New Delhi: VinFast has made its landmark entry into the Indian electric vehicle market with the launch of its premium electric SUVs, VinFast VF 6 and VF 7.
This marks the company’s first introduction of made-in-India VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 models to the country’s rapidly expanding EV sector, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable and green mobility.
VinFast VF 6: Premium Compact SUV Tailored for India
The VinFast VF 6 is designed as a premium compact SUV, blending performance, comfort, and cutting-edge technology. Built around the philosophy of “The Duality in Nature,” the VF 6 is available in three variants — Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity.
- Battery & Range: 59.6 kWh battery with up to 468 km ARAI-certified range and 25-minute fast charging (10–70%).
- Performance: VF 6 Earth offers 130 kW peak power and 250 Nm torque, while the VF 6 Wind delivers 150 kW peak power and 310 Nm torque, accelerating 0–100 kmph in 8.9 seconds.
- Features: 12.9-inch infotainment screen, ADAS Level 2, adaptive cruise control, panoramic glass roof (Infinity variant), and premium vegan leather interiors.
VinFast VF 7: Large SUV with Bold Design and Advanced Tech
The VinFast VF 7 represents the brand’s “Universe is Asymmetrical” design philosophy, featuring bold exteriors and premium interiors. Offered in five variants — Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky, and Sky Infinity — the VF 7 provides both FWD and AWD options.
- Battery & Range: Options include a 59.6 kWh and 70.8 kWh battery pack, delivering up to 532 km of ARAI-certified range. Fast charging (10–70%) is achieved in 24–28 minutes.
- Performance: VF 7 Earth delivers 130 kW peak power and 250 Nm torque, while the VF 7 Sky AWD generates 260 kW power and 500 Nm torque, achieving 0–100 kmph in just 5.8 seconds.
- Features: Large 19-inch alloys, ADAS Level 2, driver monitoring system, panoramic glass roof (Infinity variants), coloured HUD, ventilated seats, and dual-zone AC.
VinFast VF 6 and VF 7: Strategic Ecosystem for EV Ownership
VinFast has partnered with RoadGrid, myTVS, Global Assure, and BatX Energies to build a comprehensive EV ecosystem in India, including financing, after-sales services, charging infrastructure, and battery recycling.
At the heart of VinFast’s India strategy is its state-of-the-art Thoothukudi manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, where the VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 will be assembled. The facility’s strategic location near a major port supports both domestic demand and exports.
VinFast plans to establish 35 dealer touchpoints and 26 workshops across 27 cities by the end of 2025, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, and Lucknow for VinFast VF 6 and VF 7.
